28 new researchers selected for the French-Finnish mobility program Maupertuis!

The French-Finnish research mobility program Maupertuis is enjoying another success! In 2024, no fewer than 28 researchers from France or Finland will have the opportunity to develop or consolidate their scientific collaborations in the respective partner country.

The outcome of the 2024 edition of Maupertuis demonstrates the excellent scientific cooperation between France and Finland.

Out of 83 proposals in response to the call, 28 were selected, covering a broad range of disciplines, spanning from Space Physics to Sport Sciences or Linguistics. The selection committee, composed of French and Finnish officials, noted the outstanding quality of the projects.

The ambition of the Maupertuis program, named after a French scientist from the 18th century who proved with an expedition in Finland that the Earth is flattened at the poles, is to facilitate the exchange of expertise and ideas among researchers, promoting innovation and cross-cultural scientific exploration. It is also expected that it will facilitate establishment of structured cooperations between the researchers and their home institutions in the longer-term horizon.

This bilateral effort underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen relationships in the global research community.

The launch of the 2025 edition of the Maupertuis program is expected in the second quarter of 2024. Stay tuned.
