Launched in 2018 by French President Emmanuel Macron, the “Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA)” initiative has garnered global attention, attracting interest from researchers worldwide. As a leading advocate in the fight against climate change and a key actor in upholding the Paris Agreement, France is launching a new call to enhance scientific contributions on issues highlighted by the Climate Conference of Parties (COP).
Now in its 8th edition, the programme aims to welcome at least 60 non-French early career researchers, offering them a unique opportunity to expand their network while working in France for 12 months, starting in September 2025.
Research topics for this edition include:
- Earth system sciences
- Climate change and sustainability sciences
- Energy transition
- Societal challenges of environmental issues
- Human, animal, and ecosystem health within the “One Health” framework
Fellowship benefits include:
- A monthly stipend of 2,500 euros
- A moving allowance of 500 euros
- A health insurance plan covering civil liability and repatriation assistance until registration with the French social security system
- A complementary health insurance plan covering civil liability and repatriation assistance once registration with French social security is complete
