Results of the 2022 Maupertuis call for projects

In 2022, the Maupertuis program will finance 25 researchers for short mobilities and 3 French-Finnish research workshops.

The Maupertuis call for proposals aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of science, innovation and higher education by financing the short-term mobility of young researchers between French and Finnish institutions and by supporting the organization of Franco-Finnish workshops in a field of research excellence. This program is supported by the French Institute of Finland, the French Embassy in Finland and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in partnership with the Finnish Society for Science and Letters and the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters.  This year, the selection committee has chosen 25 applications for short mobilities and 3 workshops (2 in Finland and 1 in France).

The themes of the research/teaching/innovation workshops are:
  • Gravitational spectroscopy and interferometry with atoms and neutrons;
  • New imaging approaches to optimize the resolution in many fields of wave physics (seismology, acoustics and medical imaging),
  • Awareness on the “open dialogue” approach in psychiatry.

Among the 25 researchers who will be able to carry out a short research mobility this year, 17 are young researchers (PhD students and Post Doc) and 10 are women. The research fields covered are very diverse and range from biology and biotechnology, ICT, chemistry, mathematics, physics, history, anthropology, musicology, agro-ecology, geophysics and engineering sciences. 15 researchers will go from France to Finland (Universities of Helsinki, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Lappeenranta-Lahti, Abo Akademy, Aalto) and 10 researchers will go from Finland to France (CNRS, INSERM, INRAE, EHESS, IRCAM, Universities of Strasbourg, Grenoble Alpes, Bordeaux Montaigne, Paris Saclay, Sorbonne, etc).

These mobilities often concern new scientific collaborations that allow the potential development, in the longer term, of institutional cooperation and participation in European research programs.
