WELCOME TO THE LIBRARY OF THE FRENCH INSTITUTE OF FINLAND!
The library of the French Institute is a unique place in Finland for all those willing to discover, or maintain a contact with, the French culture.
The library offers a collection of up to 4 000 books and cartoons, 1 000 DVDs, as well as a number of magazines for all ages and all tastes.
The French Institute library card is free, and you can conveniently get it during your visit to the library. With the card, you can immediately borrow all the materials from the library.
The library is at the very heart of the Institute. Every Thursday, the Institute organises cultural and scientific events with artists and thinkers, as well as more relaxed evenings around debates, discussions, and encounters. The library welcomes visitors spend time, read books and magazines, discuss, listen to the French language, work… At the library, you will find comfortable chairs surrounded by bookshelves full of French literature, and tablets to consult our online library. Children will find their very own corner at the back of the library, with books categorised by age groups and bean bags for lounging.
Students interested in studies in France will find information at our Campus France Finlande service. You can visit during the opening hours of the library, or make an appointment at helsinki@campusfrance.org. Bienvenue !
Library opening hours:Tuesday to Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Outside these hours, the library and the institute are closed to the public, except for students attending the courses. French courses take place independently of the library opening hours. |
