Timo Tuominen – Brel x 3

Timo Tuominen, member of the National Theatre’s troupe, will perform the songs of Jacques Brel during three evenings at the National Theatre in Vallila.

A true Brel expert, Tuominen has translated almost 80 of the Belgian singer-songwriter’s (1929-1938) songs. His interpretations, accompanied by virtuoso musicians, offer a musical evening full of life and emotion.

“When I perform Brel, I can’t tell if it’s more singing or acting. It is “chanson”. “Translating Brel’s poems is addictive, but my passion is to perform them. The songs really come alive in the heart of the listener. Live in front of living people – that’s where chanson is at home,” says Timo Tuominen.
