Laure Prouvost –  Ars 2022

Laure Prouvost, one of the most celebrated French contemporary artist has created a new work for Kiasma ARS2022 exhibition! This piece of art was created during a residency supported by the French institute in Finland.

ARS22 brings the freshest and most compelling works and cutting-edge artists to Kiasma, creating a space dedicated to shared experiences and community. 15 new works have been created for the exhibition.  

Amongts them, Laure Provost’s piece reflects on femininity, motherhood and sauna culture. It was created in Hanasaari, Espoo, near Helsinki. Stepping behind thick curtains in the exhibition space is like diving into the safe and protective heat of the uterus, as the space has been heated to match the temperature of the human body.
