The Marching Band is a touching comedy about brotherhood and the power of music. In the film, a famous conductor Thibaut (Benjamin Lavernhe) travels the world for his work and dedicates his life to art. His hectic life is turned upside down when he learns that he was adopted and discovers the existence of his biological brother. His younger brother Jimmy (Pierre Lottin) works in a school cafeteria and plays the trombone in a local brass band. On the surface, everything separates them, except for their love of music. Soon, Thibaut realizes that Jimmy possesses a hidden untapped musical talent and decides to help him. Thibaut then realizes that he needs something that only his newly discovered brother can give him.

The film is directed by Emmanuel Courcol, a César-nominated director, whose previous film Un triomphe won the European Film Awards for Best European Comedy.

The premiere on February 25th at 7:45 PM is organized in partnership with the Cinema Orion. Located in the Kamppi district of Helsinki, Cinema Orion is a gem of Art Deco. The theater, originally designed for silent films, has been continuously in operation since March 1928, when it first opened to the public. The cinema’s comfortable seats are often described as “the most comfortable in the city.”
