One of the central collections of modern poetry, “Alcools” by Guillaume Apollinaire, has recently been translated into Finnish by the translator Janne Salo. As part of this event, we invite you to explore this work during our poetry evening!
During the event, poet, nonfiction writer, journalist, and writing instructor Tommi Parkko (Parkko Editions) will discuss early 20th-century poetry and Guillaume Apollinaire as a key figure of this era. The conversation will be enriched by the presence of Finnish translator Janne Salo, who will shed light on the translation process of “Alcools” and the relevance of these poems today.
Free entry upon registration. The event will be held in Finnish.
