Christine and the Queens’ poignant and passionate electronic pop thoughtfully questions gender, sexuality and identity. Christine and the Queens is the professional name of French singer, songwriter, producer, dancer and choreographer Héloïse Adélaïde Létissier. He is also known as Redcar and Chris.

Christine and The Queens made a musical breakthrough with his debut album, Chaleur Humaine (2014), which reached a high ranking on French and UK album charts. The second album, Chris (2018), brought the artist, who lists David Bowie, Laurie Anderson and Michael Jackson as his influences, to the global awareness of even larger audiences.

Redcar reflected on his turbulent adolescence in 2014’s debut album Chaleur Humaine. He delved even deeper in 2018’s Chris, a repudiation of gender stereotypes set to 80’s R&B sounds, and in 2022’s fantastical expression of identity Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue), both of which underscored Christine and the Queens’ commitment to making listeners think, feel, and move. Christine and the Queens, who has been awarded numerous prizes and recognitions, is undoubtedly one of the greatest French artists of recent years.
