Helsinki Lit this year’s lineup includes three top names in French contemporary literature: Edouard Louis, Annie Ernaux, and Elisa Shua Dusapin.

Annie Ernaux is the latest Nobel Prize winner in literature. She will be discussing her literary career and life with Hannu Väisänen. The conversation will be in French and interpreted into Finnish by Sampsa Peltonen.

Édouard Louis has revolutionized contemporary literature by bringing to light the working class and stories that are usually silenced. Louis’ fifth book, “Change: Method,” will be released in Finnish in May (Tammi, si. He will be interviewed by Pajtim Statovci, and the discussion will center around class society and outsider status.

Elisa Shua Dusapin is a French-Korean author who resides in Switzerland. “Winter in Sokcho” is her internationally acclaimed debut novel, which has been translated into several languages and won multiple literary awards. She will be interviewed by Selja Ahava.
